The first public MCP server for Cadwork.
Open MCP CAD connects your AI assistant to Cadwork while it is running. An MCP server and a Cadwork plugin allow a language model to read and create geometry directly in your open 3D document. You describe what you need instead of clicking through menus. It was developed over several months in real, everyday timber construction work.

LignoPlan brings together the planning tools from LignoAI. At its heart will be LignoCAD, a standalone timber construction CAD that understands how engineers think.
Tragwerk is the first module. More will follow step by step, all running on the same LignoPlan account. Your projects stay local on your computer.

I’m Sebastian Koukoui, a trained carpenter, wood engineering student at BFH in Biel/Bienne and founder of LignoAI.
I don’t build my own AI. I bring existing AI into everyday planning in timber construction, into the software we use today and into my own tools where no suitable ones exist.
I am convinced that many steps, from the first sketch to the finished drawing, can be automated. The profession I am studying will look different in a few years. LignoAI aims to be the place to go for anyone who wants to use AI sensibly in timber construction.

1.1 These terms govern the use of the LignoPlan account, the website lignoai.ch and the software LignoCAD Tragwerk. The provider is LignoAI, owner Sebastian Koukoui, Biel/Bienne, Switzerland (hereinafter “LignoAI” or “we”). The postal address is given in the Legal notice.
1.2 These terms also apply to further LignoPlan modules, unless we set out separate terms for them.
1.3 General terms and conditions of users or their companies do not apply, even if we do not expressly object to them.
1.4 The open-source software Open MCP CAD is governed exclusively by its own licence (section 14).
2. Definitions
2.1 The account is your personal access to LignoPlan. You use it to sign in on the website and in the software.
2.2 The software is LignoCAD Tragwerk in all versions, together with updates, installers, templates, symbols, libraries, documentation and the associated online services such as sign-in and licence checks.
2.3 The licence is the right to use the software in accordance with sections 5 and 6.
2.4Results are all content you create with the software, for example position plans, load transfer plans, lists and exports.
2.5You are the person who creates the account. If you act on behalf of an office or company, this also refers to that office or company.
3. Account
3.1 To have an account, you must be of legal age and have legal capacity. If you are younger, you need the consent of your legal representative.
3.2 Your details must be true and complete. If they change, you update them in your account or let us know.
3.3 Each account belongs to exactly one person. You may not share your account with others, use it as a shared account for several people or transfer it to anyone else.
3.4 You sign in with your email address and password, or with a link or code that we send you by email. Keep your password secret, protect access to your email inbox and do not pass on passwords, links or codes. If you notice that someone is misusing your account, report it to us immediately at info@lignoai.ch. You are responsible for actions carried out through your account to the extent that you are accountable for the misuse.
3.5 If you open or use an account for an office or company, you confirm that you are authorised to represent it. These terms then also apply to the office or company.
3.6 We may refuse a registration without giving reasons. There is no entitlement to an account.
4. Conclusion of the contract and activation
4.1 You accept these terms by ticking the corresponding box when you sign up and then confirming your email address. This concludes the contract for your account. As evidence, we store the time of your consent and the version of the terms you agreed to.
4.2 As soon as you have confirmed your email address, you automatically receive a provisional licence for 14 days. During this time, we review the registration. We then either extend the licence according to your licence type or let it expire. There is no entitlement to a licence or to its extension.
4.3 You can see the type, term and number of devices of your licence in your account. These details are authoritative.
4.4 For paid offerings, we conclude a separate contract. Supplementary terms may apply to them, which we will communicate to you in advance.
5. Licence types and costs
5.1Licence for students. It is free of charge for the duration of your education and applies only to education, for example to exercises, semester projects and theses at a university, university of applied sciences or vocational school. Commercial use is not permitted, in particular not for paid assignments, for a side income or for work for an employer. We may ask for proof of your studies or training, for example a university email address or a student ID card. With confirmed proof, the licence runs until 30 September each time, for at least three months and never beyond the stated end of your education. After that you confirm your education again every year. The licence ends when its term expires or when your education ends. If you finish and switch to the licence for professionals, you can use it free of charge until three months after the end of your last semester.
5.2Licence for professionals. Introductory offer: if you sign up by 31 December 2026, it is free of charge for at least three months from activation. It applies to use in your own professional projects.
5.3Other licences, for example for teaching or for larger companies, are agreed on a case-by-case basis.
5.4 We announce paid offerings at least 30 days in advance. Costs only arise if you expressly order a paid offering. A free licence is never automatically converted into a paid one. If you do not order anything, the free licence ends when its term expires.
5.5Beta phase. The software is at an early stage of development. Features may change, be removed or contain errors.
6. Right of use
6.1 As long as your licence is valid and you comply with these terms, you receive a simple, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable right to install the software in executable form and to use it for the purpose of your licence type. This right is limited to the term of your licence.
6.2 You may only use the software on as many devices as your licence allows. When you first sign in, the software registers the device (activation). If you would like to change devices, please contact us.
6.3 The software checks the licence online at regular intervals. Without an internet connection, it runs with a signed offline authorisation for a limited time, currently no more than 72 hours. After that, it needs a connection again.
6.4 You may make a backup copy of the installer, provided you only use it for your own licensed use.
6.5 The software is licensed, not sold. All rights that we do not expressly grant to you remain with LignoAI.
7. What is not permitted
7.1 Without our prior written consent, you are in particular not permitted:
to copy, reproduce or distribute the software in whole or in part, except for installation and the backup copy under section 6
to decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the software, or to attempt in any other way to disclose its source code, structure, algorithms or data formats. This also applies to the delivered bytecode and to individual parts of the program.
to modify, translate or adapt the software or to create derivative works from it, except through interfaces that we expressly provide for this purpose
to circumvent, remove, disable or tamper with the licence check, the activation, the device binding, the offline authorisation, the limitation of the term, the encryption or other technical protection measures, or to attempt to do so. This also includes altering licence data, device identifiers, the system time, program files or the data traffic to the licence server.
to produce, distribute or use tools, instructions, keys, patches or other means that can be used to circumvent such protection measures
to use the software without a valid licence or to continue using it after the licence has ended

to use the online services such as sign-in, licence server, website or Lignobot other than through the intended channels, to overload them, to query them in an automated way, to test them for vulnerabilities or to inject malicious code
to use the software for unlawful purposes
7.2 This is without prejudice to acts that are mandatorily permitted by law, in particular decryption to achieve interoperability under Art. 21 of the Copyright Act (CopA). Before relying on this, please ask us in writing. Where possible, we will provide you with the necessary information about interfaces ourselves.
7.3 If you find a security vulnerability, please report it to us confidentially at info@lignoai.ch instead of exploiting or publishing it.
8. Consequences of breaches
8.1 If you breach these terms, or if there is a reasonable suspicion of a breach, we may immediately block your licence and your account, deactivate registered devices and terminate the contract without notice. In this case, we will not refund any amounts already paid.
8.2 You are liable for damage resulting from a breach. If you use the software without a valid licence, you owe at least the fee that would have been due for a corresponding regular licence.
8.3 We reserve the right to take further civil and criminal action. Copyright infringements and the circumvention of technical protection measures are punishable offences in Switzerland (Art. 67 and 69a CopA).
8.4 We may verify compliance with the licence as part of the technical licence check, for example the number of activated devices. We do not look into your projects when doing so.
9. Professional responsibility
9.1 LignoCAD Tragwerk is a tool that supports planning. It does not replace a competent professional or engineering services.
9.2 Results may contain errors, for example due to incorrect or incomplete input, errors in the software, assumptions made, simplifications or rounding.
9.3 Before using any result, you must have it checked for correctness, completeness and plausibility by a suitably qualified professional. Responsibility for structural safety, serviceability and compliance with the applicable standards, regulations, recognised rules of building practice and official requirements lies solely with you and the professionals responsible for the project.
9.4 With the software, LignoAI does not provide any engineering or planning services, does not prepare structural calculations and does not check any projects. Results of the software are not checked calculations and do not confirm that a structure meets the requirements.
10. Your projects and results
10.1 The software processes and stores projects, plans and CAD files on your computer. We do not receive any of them.
10.2 You are responsible for backing up your data yourself. Make backup copies regularly.
10.3 The rights to your results belong to you. If they contain components of the software, for example templates, symbols or libraries, you may use these as part of your results without time limit, even after the licence has ended.
10.4 Feedback, bug reports and suggestions are welcome. We may use them freely, free of charge and without attribution to develop our products further. Please do not send us any confidential project data when doing so.
11. Updates and availability
11.1 We continuously develop the software and provide updates. Some updates are necessary for continued use, for example for security reasons or for the licence check.
11.2 We strive for high availability of the online services but cannot guarantee it. Maintenance work and outages are possible. The offline authorisation bridges short interruptions.
11.3 We may change, extend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the software entirely, we will inform you at least 30 days in advance where possible.
11.4 You are responsible for a suitable system, a working internet connection and valid licences for any third-party programs.
12. Intellectual property
12.1 The software, the website, texts, graphics, logos and the names LignoAI, LignoPlan and LignoCAD are protected by copyright and trademark law. All rights to them belong to LignoAI or its licensors.
12.2 The software contains third-party components, including open-source software. These components are subject to their own licences. You can find the relevant notices in the software or obtain them on request. Where these licences grant you further rights, they take precedence for the component concerned.
12.3 Third-party trademarks mentioned, for example Cadwork, belong to their respective owners.
13. Website and Lignobot
13.1 The content of the website is provided for information purposes. We prepare it with care but accept no liability for its accuracy, completeness or timeliness.
13.2 The Lignobot answers questions automatically with the help of artificial intelligence. Its answers may be incorrect or incomplete. They are non-binding and do not constitute professional, legal or contractual advice. Only these terms and written commitments from LignoAI are binding. Please do not enter any confidential or sensitive personal data in the chat.
13.3 The operators of third-party websites that we link to are responsible for those websites.
14. Open MCP CAD
14.1 Open MCP CAD is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3 (AGPL-3.0). You can obtain it from GitHub without an account.
14.2 The use, modification and distribution of Open MCP CAD are governed exclusively by the terms of the AGPL-3.0. Nothing in these Terms of Use restricts the rights that the AGPL-3.0 grants you. As described there, Open MCP CAD is provided without any warranty.
14.3 Third-party programs and services that you connect to Open MCP CAD, for example CAD programs or AI assistants, are subject to their own terms. You are responsible for holding valid licences for these programs.
15. Warranty
15.1 We provide the free software and the beta versions as they are. We do not warrant any particular characteristics, in particular not that they are free of errors, continuously available or suitable for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties.
15.2 Paid offerings are subject to the rules agreed for them.
15.3 The best way to report errors to us is at info@lignoai.ch. We endeavour to fix them but are not obliged to do so.
16. Liability
16.1 To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability. This applies in particular to indirect and consequential damage, loss of profit, delays in the planning or construction process, defects in and damage to buildings and structures, costs of remedial work, loss of data and third-party claims.
16.2 To the extent permitted by law, we also exclude liability for auxiliary persons.
16.3 This does not affect liability for intent and gross negligence or liability under mandatory statutory provisions, such as under the Product Liability Act (PrHG).
16.4 For paid offerings, our liability is limited, to the extent permitted by law, to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the damage.
16.5 To the extent permitted by law, you indemnify LignoAI against third-party claims arising because you breach these terms or use results without the necessary professional review. This also includes reasonable costs of legal defence.
17. Term and termination
17.1 The contract for your account is concluded for an indefinite period.
17.2 You can end it at any time by requesting the deletion of your account. You can do this in your account under “Security” or by email to info@lignoai.ch.
17.3 We may terminate the contract by email with 30 days’ notice. For good cause, in particular in the event of a breach of section 7, false information or misuse, we may terminate without notice.
17.4 A licence ends when its term expires, when the account ends or by revocation under section 8. We may end free licences for objective reasons with 30 days’ notice. We will honour promised minimum terms, such as the three months for professionals, except in the event of a breach of these terms.
17.5 Once the licence has ended, you must stop using the software, uninstall it and delete all copies. The offline authorisation expires after 72 hours at the latest. You may continue to use results you created before. Sections 7 to 10, 12, 15, 16 and 19 continue to apply after the contract ends.
18. Changes to these terms
18.1 We may amend these terms, for example because of new features, new offerings or changes in the law.
18.2 We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, by email or in your account, and ask for your consent. If you do not agree, you can end the contract. Without your consent, we may restrict the use of the software once the changes have taken effect.
18.3 Purely editorial changes and changes that do not put you at a disadvantage apply without renewed consent.
18.4 Each version bears a date and a version number. We will send you earlier versions on request.
19. Final provisions
19.1 How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
19.2 Notices are given by email to the address of your account or to info@lignoai.ch. Electronic form is sufficient.
19.3 You may only transfer rights and obligations under this contract with our written consent. We may transfer the contract to a company that continues the software, for example if the owner founds a company.
19.4 If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. The invalid provision is replaced by a provision that comes closest to its purpose.
19.5 The German version of these terms is authoritative.
19.6 These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and the conflict of laws rules.
19.7 The place of jurisdiction is Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Mandatory places of jurisdiction, in particular for consumers, are reserved. We may also bring proceedings against you at your place of residence or registered office.

1. Controller
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is LignoAI, Sebastian Koukoui, Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The postal address is given in the Legal notice. You can reach us at info@lignoai.ch.
This policy applies to the website lignoai.ch, the LignoPlan account, the software LignoCAD Tragwerk and the Lignobot. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we process
2.1 Visiting the website
When you visit lignoai.ch, our hosting provider GitHub (GitHub Pages) stores technical information in log files: IP address, date and time, the page accessed, browser, operating system and the previously visited page. This is necessary to deliver the website, protect it and find errors. We do not evaluate this information for marketing purposes.
Your browser loads the website’s fonts from Google Fonts and the program library for signing in from the jsDelivr service. In doing so, these providers receive your IP address and information about your browser.
2.2 Your account
When you create an account, we store your email address, your first and last name, the account type, your university or company, whether you would like to receive news, the time and version of your consent to the Terms of Use, whether you signed up via the website or the app and the language in which we should write to you. In addition, we store the times of creation, confirmation and last sign-in.
Signing in generates technical data, such as session keys and sign-in logs with IP address and browser identifier. We only store your password in encrypted form as a hash value. We do not know it in plain text.
2.3 Sign-in emails
The emails with sign-in links and codes are sent on our behalf by the Resend service. This involves processing your email address, the content of the message and the delivery status. When a new account is registered, we also send your account details by email to info@lignoai.ch so that we can review the licence.
2.4 Licence
For your licence, we store its status, licence type and validity. For each registered device, we store a device ID and the times of activation, last check and deactivation. The device ID is a random number generated by the app. It does not contain any serial numbers or information about the hardware. The app stores a signed offline authorisation and your sign-in session on your device.
For the student licence, we store the stated end of your studies, your university address and when you confirmed it. If you upload a proof of enrolment, it is kept in protected storage at Supabase that only we can view. After our check we delete the document and keep only the result. Resend sends the confirmation code and the renewal reminders.
2.5 LignoCAD Tragwerk
The app processes projects, plans and CAD files exclusively on your computer. It does not transmit any project content, usage statistics or crash reports to us. It only connects to our servers for signing in and for the licence check.
2.6 Contact by email
If you write to us at info@lignoai.ch, we process your address and the content of your message in order to reply to you. We receive the messages via Apple’s iCloud email service.
2.7 Lignobot
If you write to the Lignobot, your message and the previous history of this conversation are sent to a function at Supabase and from there to the AI provider Anthropic in the USA, which generates the answer. We do not store the conversations. The history disappears as soon as you reload the page. Please do not enter any confidential or sensitive personal data in the chat.
2.8 Storage in your browser
If you sign in on the website, your browser stores the sign-in session in local storage so that you stay signed in. Your browser also stores your language choice locally. On the sign-in page for the app, an intermediate state is briefly stored in session storage while you sign in. We do not set any cookies for advertising or analytics.
2.9 News
If you choose to receive them, we inform you by email about new LignoPlan modules. You can unsubscribe at any time in your profile or by writing to us.
3. Purposes

4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: processing for your account, sign-in and licence is necessary for the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Operation, security of the services and protection against misuse are based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We send news on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. We fulfil retention obligations under Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
5. Service providers and disclosure abroad
We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf:
Supabase Inc., USA: account, sign-in and licence data. The data are stored in a data centre in Stockholm, Sweden. The Lignobot function also runs there.
Resend Inc., USA: sending the sign-in emails
GitHub Inc., USA: hosting the website with GitHub Pages via a global server network and downloading the installers
Anthropic PBC, USA: AI model for the Lignobot’s answers
Apple (iCloud): receiving emails sent to info@lignoai.ch
Google (Google Fonts): delivering the fonts
jsDelivr: delivering the program library for signing in
Users download Open MCP CAD and the LignoCAD Tragwerk installer directly from GitHub. GitHub’s privacy policy applies to this.
Some of these providers are based in the USA or process data there. The USA is considered a country with adequate data protection only for companies certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. 6. Retention
We keep account and licence data for as long as your account exists. After deletion, we remove them within 30 days.

Technical logs of our service providers are deleted according to their retention periods, usually after a few days or weeks.
We keep emails sent to info@lignoai.ch for as long as necessary for your enquiry and any follow-up questions.
We delete uploaded proofs of enrolment after the check, at the latest after 60 days.
We do not store conversations with the Lignobot. Anthropic retains the data for a limited time in accordance with its own policies and, according to its own statements, does not use them to train its models.
7. Data security
All connections are encrypted. Only authorised persons have access to account and licence data. The licence tables in the database are locked so that they can only be read and changed through verified server functions. The app’s offline authorisation is digitally signed. Nobody can guarantee complete protection. We continuously adapt our measures.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you live in the EU, the supervisory authority of your country is also competent.
9. No automated decisions
We do not make any decisions that are based solely on automated processing and significantly affect you. The provisional licence after registration is granted automatically. A person decides whether it is extended. The technical limit on devices merely implements the agreed scope of the licence. We do not create profiles.
10. Changes
We will update this policy if our services or the law change. The version published here at any given time applies. We will inform you of material changes by email or in your account.
